Stephen Lukachko is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department
of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT. Mr. Lukachko
received his B.S. from the University of Michigan and S.M.
from MIT. His interests include the analysis of
environmental policy issues associated with transportation
systems, the development of strategic technology
decision-making processes to satisfy social, technical, and
economic goals, and the analysis of thermo-fluid-chemical
systems, particularly in relation to energy conversion,
combustion, and emissions.
He has conducted research and written
publications addressing socioeconomic valuation of environmental impact via
impact pathway analysis and damage function estimation, trace gaseous and
particulate emissions, turbine cooling in reactive flows, combustion in
micro-devices, engine noise suppression, and environmental performance
accounting. Mr. Lukachko has worked for MIT, the NASA Langley Research Center,
and the National Research Council, and has consulted for private and government
organizations on related topics. He was the recipient of the Sir Frank Whittle
Fellowship, and fellowships from MIT and the Sloan Foundation.
