The Joseph A. Hartman COE Leadership Award

Robert Waner

Robert Waner accepting the first Joseph A. Hartman COE Leadership Award at the COE 4th Annual Joint Meeting in Orlando Florida, March 2005

The Joseph A. Hartman Center of Excellence Leadership Award is presented to Robert Waner of The Boeing Company for his outstanding support of the FAA Centers of Excellence program. The award is named in memory of our colleague and dear friend, Professor Joe Hartman of Boise State University, who passed away on December 25, 2004. Joe made major contributions to the FAA Centers of Excellence Program and to the establishment of the FAA COE for Aircraft Noise and Aviation Emissions Mitigation and the COE for Airliner Cabin Environment Research. Boise State University created this annual award to recognize an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership qualities and vision. Through this award, FAA Centers of Excellence and Boise State University will continue to acknowledge a COE industry colleague whose contributions have significantly enriched the Program, and have served as a positive force in moving us forward - as did Joe.
