Mr. Robert J. Waner joined The Boeing Company in
June of 1964. He has been directly responsible for ensuring the technical
performance and integrity of the following aircraft designs: B-52, KC-135, 727,
737, 747, 757, 767, and 777.
Other assignments include Weapon System Trainer,
YC-14, Drones for Aerodynamic and Structural Test and Advanced Applications
Common Strategic Rotary Launcher.
Mr. Waner has a M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering
from Wichita State University in 1970 and a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering
from the University of Kansas in 1964. He completed the Columbia Senior
Executive Program in October 1997.
Mr. Waner has been in his current assignment
since 2003. In this assignment he is responsible for all Engineering activities
associated with the BCA-WD commercial products. In addition, he is responsible
for all new programs including the 7E7. He is actively engaged in establishing a
strong University/Industry relationship for the enhancement of the Engineering
Education process. He has also served on an Ad Hoc Committee to guide the Air
Force proposed MIL-Prime Specification for "Damage Tolerance Design
Requirements for Composite Military Aircraft."
Mr. Waner served on the Goodwill Industries Board
of Directors for 7 years. He is
chairman of U.S. Senator Pat Roberts Aviation Task Force and a member of his
committee on Science, Technology and the Future. He is also on the Industrial
Advisory Board for the National Institute for Aviation Research and the Aircraft
Design and Manufacturing Research Center. He serves on the Advisory Boards for
the Wichita State University College of Engineering, and the University of
Kansas Aerospace Engineering Department.
